EVENT CANCELLED!!

The Ripon Classic Car Gathering 2020

LATEST NEWS - EVENT CANCELLED!! image
We're sad to advise that our Show has had to be cancelled for this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic sweeping the world. These are very sad times. We've only ever had to cancel a single Show in previous years and that was due to Foot and Mouth epidemic.

If you've entered for the event as an individual and sent in your fee already we're sorry that, as stated on your booking form, we cannot refund your fee so you have two choices:
1) Do nothing, and your fee will be donated to Guide Dogs for the Blind.
2) Contact us on riponclassiccargathering@gmail.com or write to Carol saying that you want your fee transferring to next year's show.

If you you have booked a Club Stand for the event, paid your money and received your gate passes for this year's show, there are three options as we see it:
1) We return your money. We can only send cheques, so an accurate account name for the cheque would be appreciated.
2) We can roll over the fee paid to cover your Club stand for next year. We will send new gate passes next year.
3) You can donate the fee to Guide Dogs for the Blind which is our charity for 2020.

Please let us know how you wish to proceed using our Contact form. If none of the above options are suitable get back to us.
Whichever option you take, your Club stand for next year is guaranteed; assuming the chaos has passed by then!

We have made the decision with the best of intent and for the most important reason; the health and safety of our exhibitors and visitors.
We thank you for your understanding and sincerely hope that we can count on your support in 2021. Stay safe!

About image

Organised by Ripon Old Cars, in late July every year we bring you a Classic Car Gathering at Ripon Racecourse which also includes motorcycles, tractors, Car Clubs and Specialist Car stands. Last year we had many hundreds of exhibitors on the field of all types and styles.

Now in our twenty-sixth year, we are a non-profit group with all monies raised going to charities nominated each year by the Committee. We are very much family-friendly having a plethora of other attractions and activities taking place on the day such as children's entertainment, live music, stalls and trade stands of all descriptions, an auto jumble, games and quizzes as well as good food cooked by the local Guides and much more.

Each year the event builds and becomes more popular with both day-trippers and exhibitors alike. Thousands of local people come and take part and we also get visitors from all over the country, some bringing their cherished classic vehicles to show. Local accommodation is inexpensive and there are local camping facilities for those that need it.

If  you fancy a grand day out for the whole family, then look no further. We have ample free parking and a very modest entry fee of £5.00 per person with children under 14 free if accompanying an adult. Sorry no concessions. The event and the entertainment starts at approximately 10:00am but the gates open well  in advance so it pays to arrive early to miss the queues.

The Ripon Classic Car Gathering is held annually at Ripon Racecourse, Boroughbridge Road, Ripon HG4 1UG. See our Interactive Map. Directions are simple.

From the East: leave the A1 at Junction 48 Boroughbridge and follow the Ripon signs bringing you to the B6265. The Racecourse is the first thing you see as you approach the outskirts of Ripon (approximately 5 miles from the A1). Use the first Race Course entrance to the left.

From the West/Ripon: Use the main Racecourse Entrance on your right then once on the Racecourse turn left into the car park.

Every year, we have hundreds of vehicles of all types on display at our show and that number is growing. Our event quite rightly gains in popularity annually and has become firmly estalished on the calendar as a result with many local charities benefitting from our success. We therefore aim to make it as easy as possible for you to display your vehicle in our Show. The cut-off date of manufacture for exhibiting vehicles is December 1995.

We are now accepting applcations from exhibitors in all the classes shown below.  There are awards for each class and the entry form shows how you can register your vehicle for judging. In most cases, you will need to confirm that the entered vehicle is covered by Third Party Insurance. The closing date for applications is Sunday 12th July 2020.

You can download your entry form by following the links provided. Upon receipt of your entry form, Ripon Old Cars will issue you with and entry pass. Only vehicles displaying Ripon Old Cars-issued passes will be allowed to exhibit.

We have trade stand and Autojumble pitches available on the day. Each pitch is five metres square and you will be allowed to bring your vehicle on the pitch. We supply nothing other than the pitch so you will have to bring all your own weather protection, tables, displays etc. Please leave the pitch clean and tidy at the end of the show.

We do not allow traders to sell food or drink nor do we allow traders to run raffles or tombolas. Applications can be made by following the link.
